Our grandparents have already told me

"Every day an apple and a doctor can sleep."

Apples and apple pectin

But the history of this great fruit goes back a long way. Already the ancient Egyptians, but later the Romans and the Greeks, made apples part of their diet.

Hippocrates (c. 460-377 BC), the founder of medicine, also said that  "Death dwells in the intestines."

This claim seems to be increasingly confirmed. Apples, which have been shown to have the highest pectin content among fruits, have a very good effect on digestion. This is due to the fact that apple pectin contains water-soluble but indigestible fibers .

The Healing Power of Apple Pectin

Today, modern science has rediscovered the extraordinary healing power of the apple.

High Pectin Content

Due to the high pectin content of apples, it is effective for both diarrhea and constipation, but it is also helpful for problems with blood clots and paratyphus (hastyphus).

It helps the operation of our organization

It greatly helps liver and kidney function, thus effectively lowering cholesterol and helping to prevent gout.

High Vitamin Content

Thanks to its high vitamin and other active ingredients, apples have a beneficial effect on brain function.

The type of fiber found in apples feeds good bacteria and this may be the reason it can protect against obesity, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Apples contain pectin, a type of fiber that acts as a prebiotic. This means it nourishes good gut bacteria .

The small intestine does not absorb fibers during digestion. Instead, it gets into the colon where it can promote the growth of good bacteria. In addition, it is converted into other useful compounds that are returned to your body (1). According to new research, this may be the reason some protective effects against apple obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Apples contain a number of naturally occurring compounds that can help fight cancer.

They were incidence and cancer deaths associated with a lower risk of cancer surveillance studies.

Experimental studies have shown an association between plant compounds in apples and a lower risk of cancer (2).

In addition, a study in women reported that apple consumption may be associated with lower rates of cancer mortality (3).

Scientists believe that the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of apples may be responsible for their potential cancer-preventing effects (4).

Apples contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that can help regulate immune responses and protect against asthma.

Apples rich in antioxidants can help protect the lungs from oxidative damage.

A large-scale study of more than 68,000 women found that those who ate the most apples had the lowest risk of asthma. Consuming about 15% of large apples per day was associated with a 10% lower risk (2).

The peel of an apple contains a flavonoid called quercetin, which can help regulate the immune system and reduce inflammation . These are two ways it can affect asthma and allergic reactions (5).

Apple consumption is associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes. This is probably due to their polyphenol antioxidant content.

Several studies have linked apple consumption to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes (6).

In a large study, consuming one apple a day had a 28% lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than those who did not eat an apple. Even eating a few apples a week had a similar protective effect (2).

It is possible that the polyphenols in apples help prevent tissue damage to pancreatic beta cells. Beta cells produce insulin in the body and are often damaged in people with type 2 diabetes.
